I didn't realize how much I'd come to like this piece looking back, but I'm so proud of how it turned out. As a kid, I had an attic in my room and was always so scared of things being in there or coming out of it. same with under my bed. While painting, I wanted the feeling of the figure not knowing what's happening around her and getting lost in her head. However, now thinking about it, it feels almost as if she knows it's there but accepts it. Painting is so interesting in that aspect, at least for me. So many of my emotions go into my paintings that they mean different things to me depending on what I'm focusing on.
